Getting started with your second phone number

Here are a few easy things you can do to get the most out of your new Sideline number.

1. Share your 2nd number

No more stressing over giving your personal phone number to business contacts. Now that you have a 2nd phone number just for business-related calls, share it. Let customers, clients, or contacts know how to reach you. To make sharing your new number easy, Sideline can auto-populate a text with your number from the top of your Settings that can be easily sent to anyone.

2. Record your voicemail greeting

You don’t get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression. So start off strong with a good voicemail greeting. A professional voicemail greeting lets your customers know they’ve come to the right place and reinforces your business credibility. With Sideline, you can record up to 3 different voicemail greetings, to let customers know your location, business hours, or any other important information they may need to know.

3. Set ring & text tones

Sideline’s custom caller ID lets you see when your 2nd number is ringing. Ring and text tones let you hear it. This helps you know whether your personal number or Sideline number is ringing before you even pick up the phone. Set custom ringtones to easily differentiate between your two numbers. When you hear the Sideline tone, you’ll know it’s a business call and can answer accordingly. When you hear your phone’s regular tone, you know it’s a personal call that probably won’t affect your bottom line.

4. Start a conversation

5. Set up Auto-Reply
