We are always looking for innovative ways to improve Sideline for our users, and so we decided that some new features were in order. In this first update in what we are calling the Project Reach journey (throughout which we’ll be keeping you posted on the development of the Sideline Pro Beta features), we’re giving you a sneak peek of what we are building for you.
Streamline customer management
One thing that we heard from our users is that they wanted even more separation between their personal and business contacts. More separation, organization, and automation means easier access to customer information and more time saved. We’re working on separating out your personal contacts from your Sideline contacts. We’re also working on features that automatically identify new contacts and allow you to easily and instantly add new contacts. No more struggling to stay on top of adding customer contacts to your phone or searching your call and text history in an effort to connect the dots between names and numbers.
Save time and better serve customers
Providing top-notch customer service is all about the little details. However, when you’re running a business on your own, it can be a challenge to tend to all of your tasks in a timely manner. As a result, small things like following up with customers or entering new contact information can sometimes slip through the cracks.
With the Sideline Pro Beta features designed to simplify and automate time-consuming tasks, you will be able to address those little details as soon as you hang up a customer call. Once you end a call, a menu of tools will pop up. You will have the option to:
- Add a contact effortlessly
Automatically identify unknown phone numbers and create new contacts with a few quick taps.
- Send an editable templated text
Follow up with important details right after you hang up the phone. Save time by sending templated texts with frequently used information, like address and business hours, at the touch of a button.
- Add a note right in your contacts
Write a reminder to yourself with any details that you need to remember about the customer right after the call. Notes can be accessed later from the contact details. -

However, doing this can seem like a time-consuming and overwhelming task that we want to simplify and automate for busy small business owners like you. So we are building simple tools to help make customer re-engagement a snap.
In the Sideline Pro Beta, you’ll be able to send broadcast-style text messages to specific groups of customers. Send discount codes, appointment reminders, upcoming event notices, or whatever information customers will find valuable.
